Epiphytic orchid garden in Cuyabeno, Ecuador
A host of epiphytic orchids festoon a macrolobium tree growing in an igapo flooded forest lake, Laguna Grande, Cuyabeno, Ecuador. (No flowers, but spectacular, so just wanted to share!)

Glad you liked it!
Here's another one, this time showing the habitat as context for these magnificent trees.

That's wonderful. I wonder how many different species are in there.

Dozens of orchids I am sure, and bromeliads, ferns, arums and many others...

Oh man, I wonder how many orchid species there were on that tree.

Fantastic. The tree is barely visible. I wonder what it looks like with blooms!

More jungle photographs
I recently visited Cuyabeno and it is absolutely the best Amazon jungle park to visit. As is often the case in the rainforest, the plants are not buoyantly blooming, but just a single tree or a single plant at the time. And yet, Cuyabeno is one of the richest tropical rainforest parks in the world while also being one of the most accessible parks. There is a webpage that shows great shots of Amazon jungle plants[/URL] in high resolution which is well worth taking a peek at. (cuyabenolodge.com/amazon-rainforest/amazon-forest-plants/amazon-forest-plants.htm") Enjoy.
