We found a few plants on the grounds of the Au Sable Institute in Coupeville when we were there looking for Coralroots. Often very abundant when found.
Bud, the bulbous back of the flower is the ovary and very quickly swells like that after the flower is open - don't know if these are self-pollinating but wouldn't be surprised.
Nenella, I used to try to clean up the plants a bit but now prefer to just shoot them as they are, with the debris, insects, webs, etc., in place.
Thanks again, Tindo. You and the other mods are always on deck. Really appreciate all your work. You're the ones who keep this best-of-all-forums going.
