Default Orchid Hunting in Thurston County

Last month We went with the Washington Native Orchid Society to a protected location in Thurston County. It is protected for the sake of a hanging fen and various rare plants. We found some Fairy Slippers still in bloom but most of them were finished.

We had planned to go to two locations, but spent so much time just sitting around at the first and enjoying the sunshine and beautiful surroundings that some of us had to leave and missed the second location.
