Two Visits to Washington Park to see the Orchids
I am not sure that I am doing the right thing to post this, but I'd like those who are interested to see a bit more of the places we visit for the native orchids. Washington Park in Anacortes is one of our favorite and near enough that we can be gone only a few hours. It is city park and heavily used but is one of the best places to see native orchids and other wildflowers in our area. The Shooting Star below is one of the other wildflowers we always go to see in the spring but there are many other pictures of the park and its flora and fauna at the link below.

Oh that park must be fabulous! Such beautiful flowers, even the fungi are lovely, and the duck, too! Wonderful photos, as always - thanks so much for sharing them with us.

Thanks, Sonya. The park is only around 250 acres, so it is not large, and there is a campground and a road around the park and picnic areas and it is right next to the city of Anacortes. It is amazing that it is so unspoiled in spite of all that.

Thanks for the photos Ron. Makes me look forward to trips to our Wagner nature center, only a few more weeks! It's amazing what beauty is still possible so close to human habitat.

Where is Wagner? We come up to Edmonton frequently and we've visited the Clifford E. Lee Nature Center but not Wagner.
