People must think this plant grows like a weed or something.

Fairy Slippers (Calypso bulbosa) are not weeds! They are not as hardy as dandelions or daisies and neither are they nearly as prolific!!!

The casual grower most likely would have no idea what to do with this plant.

As a fyi, one seed capsule is only about 3/4" long and produces very, very few seeds.

It takes years for this plant to go from seed to adult blooming sized plants!

Thanks, Philip. If more people knew this perhaps they'd be more careful where they walk, more careful about picking the flowers or attempting to transplant them.
