Calypso bulbosa - my first California native

Very excited to see a whole bunch of these in bloom on a recent trip to the Mendocino/Ukiah area of California. In a spell of good timing, the latest Sf Orchid Society lecture was on native orchids of the united states. Not sure I'll ever embark upon the goal of seeing them all, but it's nice to have one checked off the list!

Awesome! There's a park near me where I once spotted some orchids growing - couldn't tell you which (tho I know it wasn't this one) Was a few years ago - I might have to go back there and have a look (and bring a camera!)

After the fact, I thought to look for info on California native orchids - found "The Wild Orchids of California" on ebay pretty cheap - the wild orchids of california | eBay
includes info on which counties the different species may be found
