We've been out orchid hunting and I've added a number of post to my blog with text and pictures describing some of our native orchids in their habitats. This post has pictures and text describing the Western Fairy Slipper in the Columbia Gorge.
So cool. The calypso genus is one I find really enchanting. From the first pictures I saw here on OB when I had just joined years ago, to the wonderful ones you show. They have such a graceful look and I think are probably some of the prettiest orchids of all in my view.
Your pictures are fantastic as always. I love seeing both the close-ups and the ones showing the growth of everything else around them.
They are our favorite, too, Rosie - one of the first things we get out to see in the spring, and nice, too, because they bloom from early April into July at different elevations.
