Default #2 - Corallorhiza striata in the Chuckanuts

We've been out orchid hunting and I've added a number of post to my blog with text and pictures describing some of our native orchids in their habitats. This post is of the Striped Coralroot in the Chuckanut Mountains south of Bellingham:

Native Orchids of the Pacific Northwest and the Canadian Rockies: Corallorhiza striata in the Chuckanuts

Great info and pictures again Ron. I always love the look of this one, so pretty with it's lack of chlorophyll but red pigment. Love to see the way the poke up through the undergrowth like that in the later pictures.

Thanks, Rosie. These are my favorite of the Coralroots.

Love the way you show where they grow. Thanks for sharing so many!
Rosie, I agree, love the red pigments.

These are not as tall as the Spotted Coralroots, Tindo, but the flowers are larger and the color, as you say, very striking.
