Found these on Friday afternoon out in Everglades National Park. I was hoping to come across other orchids to photograph, but only managed to see the butterflies. Not that I'm complaining because I saw thousands of individual plants, some of which were absolutely huge.

This is an extremely old growth plant. There are hundreds of pseudobulbs. When in bloom this plant would be a spectacular sight to see.

Tindomul, June is usually when Enc. tampensis blooms.

thats really neat finding orchids in the wild

I got to looking at Texas native orchids and says we have 45 orchids here..I might go out and look for some of them..looks like fun, if nothing else I get out and do something different

also states "please dont pick the plants"..I wouldnt think of it!!! pictures will last me much longer

I'll be back out there in the next 2 months to shoot them all in bloom. It's surely going to be a sight to see.
