The original pic is much sharper....not sure why it posted at such a low res.

Lots of Dingy's in bloom.....saw a couple clamshells with spikes starting to emerge, walked a new area and saw about 5 really old ghosts with large root growths...the oldest plants I've seen to date. They were all about 30' + up in some pop ash trees. One young ghost in the same area as well & these were new finds for me.

On another trail I found a nice colony of Dendrophylax porrectus. Another old group of plants all with seed pods.

Last trail I walked I checked in on a pop ash I first saw last year that has 6 ghosts on it.....all but one have single to triple spikes growing already. They were only 2" long so still a month+ til they bloom.

All in all I saw about 20 ghosts, 12 D. Porrectus, the usual amount of ribbons, the dingy's and an assortment of out of bloom orchids.

I'll post more pics after work.

If memory serves me correctly, there's about 50 species of orchids in Fakahatchee Strand. I'm hoping to be able to find and photograph them all in my lifetime.
Gotta love living in the orchid Capitol of the nation
