Sorry for the error. This was posted by RobM, accidentally deleted. Here is the content:

‘She’ was a victim of Hurricane Irma back in Sept. of 2017. Old Buttonwood tree remnant finally gave away, and this magnificent specimen couldn’t take the salt/brackish soak. I hear that there were still a few viabile bulbs collected by the park service, but current status unknown.

Here was a post on Facebook about that old Cyrtopodium punctatum from Florida Orchids. It showed the plant down after the hurricane, and gladly some of her was saved, and hopefully rebuilding some new generations...

ugh, what a roller coaster this thread is !!

such highs and then so sad

i have not been able to go swamp hiking since my youngest was born but i LOVE this thread and i am so sad to hear about that demise, at least it was natural.
