el-salvadorian orchid
does anyone know what this orchid is? my uncle took pictures on his trip. the pictures are from a jungle in el-salvadore
looks like some kind of emcyclia, but i dont know anything about where they are native
i dont think this is the same plant...or even an orchid

The flowering plant is an Odontoglossum sp.
The second is definitely an orchid,a reed stem-type Epidendrum, most probably.

the second one doesnt really look like a reed stem. it looks like a vandaceous type, the leaves do

The first looks like Odontoglossum cordatum or something very closely related. The second is difficult to identify without flowers, but a reed-stem Epi is the best guess (there are no Vandaceous orchids native to Central and South America).

The 1st is an Odontoglossum species.
The 2nd is hard to see. If it's possible to crop the photo to the plant and enlarge it, it'll be easier to get a roundabout ID. It looks like it has a pseudobulb, btw (not sure).

i just took the picture off his facebook, so they are terrible quality. it wouldnt do much to crop it. odontoglossum sp. is good enough! thanks!

the second picture is a Campylocentrum, one of the 2 angraecoid genera found in El Salvador.
