In this habitat, it grows on a kapok tree (Ceiba glaziovii) that sits beside a small stream, thus having a constant humidity.
As for lighting, the Ceiba glaziovii loses its leaves at flowering in autumn, so Sophronitis cernua has better lighting during this time, but overall, it gets a good light in the morning and late afternoon.
