I thought the plants were Wild Coco, then I saw the flower. I found these while hiking today in Palm Beach County. I wonder what "Prem" will say about them? They are a very pretty flower to see.
This species runs rampant in Hawaii, along with Arundina graminifolia. In Florida, thankfully not so much, although PMB describes these as having a few naturalized populations in WOoF.
They do make good garden plants, although I like the 'grapette' species (S. unguiculata) even more owing to its grape-soda scented flowers.
Thanks Prem
I saw a bunch of them in one area along a canal bank. I also seen them in another area in Palm Beach County. The blooming season for these orchids are in May?
