Default Phantom Orchid

This unusual species was found in the Columbia River Gorge earlier this spring:

HI Ted,
These were photographed on June 25, but some of the members of the Washington Native Orchid Society went last week to see some in bloom on the Olympic Peninsula. They are fabulous, aren't they?

I haven't looked it up, but its probably a parasite, or living in a relationship with fungus(mycohrizzae) and a third plant.
Or a sapprophyte.
