Prem,

I spoke with my wife and I think we will be able to make it (she is due next Friday, so even these little things can be tough on her). I am looking forward to it!

Is there an admission fee or anything?

Thanks!

Best Regards,
Justin Parkkonen

Justin, first, congratulations to you and your wife...as one who has been through a few pregnancies, it is both a joyous and trying time. Here's praying for a safe, uneventful delivery!

As far as I know, no orchid societies charge a fee to attend any number of meetings. Now, if you like what you see, you are encouraged to join the society by paying a modest membership fee...there are definite benefits to membership...typically, subscription to the newsletter, inclusion on field trips to local vendors, etc.

But, to attend the meeting, there is no charge. I hope to see you (and your wife, if possible) there.

---Prem

Prem,

Thank you for the well wishes! I saw a photo of you with your family on your webpage, must be nice to have all those extra eyes out there with you!

We are having our daughter a few weeks early to avoid complications, so it is both a very exciting but nerve racking time. I spoke with my wife, she said she would love to go to the meeting, so I am planning on being there.

See you tomorrow.

Best Regards,
Justin Parkkonen

Prem
I see you are also a Geocacher. What caching name do you go by? I'm footTRAX
I started Cacheapalooza 4 1/2 years ago.
I really got into finding native orchids by visiting the Fakahatchee Strand. I was blown away by how the strand looked different from anywhere I have visited in Florida. My friend Chris Little really got me hooked on finding rare Orchids. I have been to some amazing spots in Florida. Most people think the Ghost Orchid is mostly found in the Fak Strand, but there is a spot that is the "Lost Atlantis" of the Ghost Orchid world. Bloom season is almost over!
I will also try to talk the wife into coming tomorrow.

Just wanted to drop a quick note thanking Prem again for the wonderful lecture on Florida's native orchids last night. Prem is extremely insightful and his passion for our native orchids is very encouraging!

I highly recommend those who can to visit one of Prem's lectures, you will not be dissapointed!

Thank you again Prem and I look forward to hunting with you soon.
