Here's a video I took of us hiking in the Fakahatchee Strand. The guy in the video is "Chris Little". He was the one who found the rare orchid "Cyclopogon elatus". It hasn't been seen in Florida since 1980. You can read more here. Rare orchid found in Fakahatchee not seen in Florida since 1980 Naples Daily News

Nice. I liked the soundtrack a lot too. I need to go back it's been almost a month it seems. Do you live nearby? When was the video shot? It looks like it all dried up.

I live in Palm Beach County, but try to visit the area often. The video was taking in February (year before)and it was in the center of Fakahatchee. We hiked about 3 1/2 miles from the Picayune Strand to the main tram. Crazy Journey!

This year it has been a lot wetter. I thought maybe it had finally dried out but I don't think it will this year at all.

That's a good thing, but not for us who like to explore. It will get deeper once they fill in all the canal they made to the West. What section do you explore most?

I thought I replied once before. I go everywhere. I don't think I go to one place more than others. Well if I take someone for their first time I do go to the easier trail so that would be it. The one with the picnic table and the trail lined with plywood planks?
