I wish I had my book on the native orchids of europe with me to help with ID, but I left it behind in France. There are so many similar looking Dactylorhiza, and then there are also the natural hybrids. Great photos and it seems that you saw quite a few of them!
I love the landscape photos in your album (that are right after the Dactylorhiza pics), the scenery makes me think of home in France. Are those pics taken in the same area as where you saw the orchids?

Thanks Yes there were a lot of Dactylorhizas I even did not think they are endangered when I saw how many of them were there. The flowers flowered in the grass field below the hill, which from the photos were made. In the album are two different places, the other one starts with the Neottia.

Great pics!
I saw Dactylorhizas here in the UK and as there were several species in the area I'm pretty sure they were natural hybrids that I saw (they didn't quite fit the features of any of the species). It's so great when you spot them amoungst the grass.
