I really really really want to go, I am going to try. I will let you guys know soon. If I can't go, I'll be stuck here photographing Habenaria odontopetala. :/

I'm almost certain the Clamshell, Night Scented and Ribbons will be in full bloom.

It would be great to have you join us Justin, I hope you can make it. Anyone else interested? I don't think I have any Ribbons blooming pics.

Okay guys, I got the greenlight from the wifey - under one condition: I have to carpool from the Hollywood area.

I don't know how early the train runs, but if it is running early in the morning, I could meet someone either north or south of there if necessary.

Let me know if this works for you guys. Maybe we could all meet in Hollywood and take 75 west?

Also, Joe, feel like getting rid of that huge Pseudophoenix sargentii you posted photos of on your Picasa account? I have a few smaller ones, love them.

Justin, if Joe can't pick you up, then I can meet you at that McDonald's again. Can't wait!

If Chris is taking 75 west, if he didn't mind, he could meet me just a few miles below at exit 22 (where we met last time). If not, I will look into taking Trirail.

Thanks Joe!

BTW Justin thanks for the P.sargentii comments. I am really proud of that baby as I've been growing it for around 9 years. It was a gift from someone and he gave it to me in a 3 gal. I was amazed at it's beauty or rather it's mother plant's beauty. He happened to have a baby and gave it to me. This is the first year it has bloomed and I have seeds. I'm anxiously waiting for them to ripen so I can propagate them.

Your sargentii grew like a rocket in 9 years compared to what we experience in PSL. Yeah, it is a real beauty, nice work!

I think I mentioned when we were in the Fakahatchee last time, but my passion, of course, is native orchids in the wild, but what I collect are palms (specifically Caribbean basin palms like the Pseudophoenix, Cocothrinax and Copernicia). Do you have any other palms of these genera?
