Default Pictures as promised

Hi all

I hope this doesn't post twice. For some reason it would not let me post (again). So here it goes.

Hopefully attached are photos taken of orchids here in Pasco County this past 2 weeks.

Here are the following: Oeceoclades maculata, Habenaria odontopetala a "flourescent jewel" I must say, Encyclia tampensis, 3 species of Tillandsia utriculata, setacea, and I think bartramii, Epidendrum magnoliae var magnoliae, water moccasin my favorite reptile (NOT), a unusual color form of the southern Chorous frog, Malaxis spicata, Ponthieva racemosa (sorry you'll have to look close) there were approximately 200 plants, and the P.racemosa flower not a good photo.

I will be getting a new camera soon Nikon d90 or a Cannon EOS 50D Nikon more than likely there will be much better photos in the future!

Enjoy and take care all

Don

Default Orchids in the wild

Mr. Water Moccasin was really eyeballing you. How far away were you from him? By the size it looks as though he could have struck you quite easily.
I hope I can take advantage of any "wild orchid prowl" our local OS arranges this year. I just joined this fall so missed out on this year's.

Bravo...that's a nice stand of Ponthieva...where was that located?

BTW, may I offer a vote in favor of the Canon?

Thanks all

The snake was quite some distance away when I first saw it @ 20'. That was moccassin #3 for the day and the other 2 were WELL WITHIN striking distance. That is why I hate that particular species (not that I would kill it or anything just too many close calls with them).

Yes the frog was an interesting addition of the day.

Prem you may offer the advice of the camera right now I am so torn between the 2 that I just am ready to flip a coin. I do have a great package deal for the Nikon though...

I can tell you the location of the orchid patch but I would have to dispatch of you afterwards. Just kidding.

May I email you the location?

Take care all

Don
