Default Heart-leaf Twayblade

This is the red form of the species. I've already posted pictures of the green flowered form.

Love it, Ron. Must be nice to live in wild orchid heaven.

Really nice, so many nice wild orchids you have pictured recently, you've got some great shots of them.

Thanks, Kim and Rosie. There's a lot of excitement in blooming your own tropical orchids, but I think the excitement of finding another wild orchid is even greater.

I agree, I've only ever seen wild ones once a few weeks ago (although once I spotted the one I kept seeing them along the path). It was soooo exciting to see them in their natural enviroment all mixed in with the grass.

We've had the same experience, Rosie. Once you've spotted one you see others, even from the road as you're driving. We just got back from a trip to Mount St. Helens and Mount Adams and saw a new orchid there, though we got eaten by mosquitos while photographing them.
