That is one amazing ghost! Must be sad to have to walk away from such an orchid to go home. Thanks for sharing your ghost orchid passion with us, I always look forwards to pictures from your hikes. Hiking the everglands and seeing some blooming ghosts is one of those things I must do in my life.

I went to see this plant again this past Saturday...the storms that passed through the area on Wednesday really beat up the flowers...tails stripped off, petals stripped off...definitely not a photogenic plant anymore. The seed pod is continuing to grow well, though, so this big mama plant should make a few babies next year.
