Ghost orchid video
I was fortunate to receive a email from Chrisaggie. that is a time lapsed video of a Ghost orchid bud opening. He did an amazing job. He also I believe is the first one to film a Ghost orchid getting pollenated by the Sphinx Moth. He's a hugh asset to the strand and anyone interested in the ghost orchid. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

This is how he did it
A few years ago when I first read Carl Luer's 'The Native Orchids of Florida' I loved his idea of creating a ghost orchid time lapse. I finally decided that this summer was the summer to tackle this project. I set up a camera on a ghost orchid bud in the wild heart of the south florida swamp and programmed the camera to take a picture every 4 minutes. I visited the camera each day and brought it home after it had been taking pictures for 75 hours in the swamps of Big Cypress National Preserve. I hope to shoot a few more of these time lapse videos this summer. You can find out more about the ghost orchid at my website, www.ghostorchid.info.
