Ophris holosericea
Today, I had to take care of my godchild (and his father  )... so I decided to take them for a walk along the river next to their house... surprisingly, there were many many orchids in bloom (mostly Orchis militáris, but they were too far from the track to take good picturtes of them. This time, the highlight was Ophris holosericea

Ophyrs are one of my favorite groups of native orchids, I just love the shape and color of the blooms! I have seen Ophrys fuciflora, which looks identical to your,s in the Hautes-Alpes department of France. But I'm not sure, there are so many similar looking ones. In French we call it the bumblebee orchid. All of the Ophrys have insect related common names, due to their appearance. we also call Ophrys bombyliflora the bumblebee orchid.
You are lucky to be seeing so many orchids! I have been searching and searching here, with no luck. The only one I did find was already out of bloom, so I have no idea what it is other than it had white blooms.
EDIT: Apparently O.fuciflora and O.holosericea are synonyms, from what I just read on a french forum.

Dave, welcome anytime... (mid May to mid June is the best time for wild orchids)
Camille, Ophris fuciflora and Ophris holosericea are synonyms...
