This to me is very interesting. This morning my Thai wife went to our nearby mountain about 4 km away to pick mushrooms. Hundreds of local people and villagers were also doing this. The wild mushrooms are delicious and earn extra income for the people. Anyway, to my surprise, she came home with an orchid plant that she picked off a tree.

I 'played' with the plant this morning and potted it loosely in an orchid pot. Of course, I had no idea what I was doing. However, the final result I think looks pretty nice.

I have no idea what kind of orchid plant this is, so I am hoping that someone can identify it. I think I am kind of lucky to be able to write these words and have the opportunity to get both plants and food from the wild.

Just to let you know (and your wife) that it's no OK to collect wild plants (in this case, I'm talking about orchids, not mushrooms). It seems you're not aware of it.
That's why so many species are becoming extinct.

I agree, but this is the way of life and culture with the local people here.

It looks like a Hoya species, not an orchid. They are vines in the milkweed family, formerly Asclepiadaceae, but that was lumped into Apocynaceae.
