YouTube video from crime pays but botany doesn’t. Joey goes to a Dominican cloud forest. Surprising diversity for an island, with a dozen or so orchids in situ. Tillandsias and other bromeliads.

Another takeout for me is how moist it is. The low cloud makes an appearance on cue in the afternoon and it carries a surprising amount of moisture.

Thanks for posting the link. I managed about 5 minutes and then had to stop watching as it was bringing on a migraine trying to focus. Shame as I enjoyed the bit I managed to see!

Yeah, he does need to improve his camera work. I was wanting a longer view of the orchids and of the epiphyte communities.

It's easy to forget how much water most orchids get in habitat, but it's important to remember. Problems growing them are mostly related to root suffocation, improper temperatures and low humidity, not overwatering.
