C. 'Chocolate Drop' x Sophrolaeliocattlaya 'Fine Fancy'
I got this by mistake at the MOS show in November. It's been pretty nearly in bloom ever since. It's in my opinion an odd plant as it looses it's older leaves and it seems spindly. Roberta tells me this is due to the parentage. The tag is certainly a mouthful!

Not too shabby for a "mistake"! How tall is the plant?

I'm not crazy about the habit. It's lax, which is the Soph. Roberta says. And, it looses leaves, although it is growing nicely, again...probably parentage.
It was a mistake because it had a look alike on the judging table, which was fragrant. I snapped up this one by mistake and it is not scented but, boy does it bloom.

The flower is very pretty. I am sorry that it is not fragrant. That is always disappointing. I have gotten rid of many non-'fragrant' orchids.

If that's a mistake, what was the one you really wanted?

Nice looking flowers, and as far as mistakes go, you could have done far worse. I agree that the plant itself isn't very attractive, but other than that, I like it.
I've been keeping an eye out for a Catt Chocolate Drop for a long time but they don't seem to exist on this side of the pond.

It's beautiful. We all make mistakes, but that's not a bad one, not at all!
