You definitely have great taste in orchids! Carmela's describes it as 'One of our best' and it truly is. I saw it for the first time a year ago at an OS meeting and had to have one. I keep checking mine as I see some buds growing in the sheath.

its a real mini cattleya....the flower is large for its size...about 4" square....beautiful shape and form....the plant stays under 10", not counting the pot....
I am going to get rid of all my smaller cattleyas except for this one I think....I just love those big standard cattleyas, and I don't have a lot of room....

I did the opposite...got rid of the standards and now collect the miniatures. The standards are quite beautiful, though. Good luck with the collecting!

my thinking is that I can go longer without watering the big ones....so I can take more frequent runs in the 5th wheel, lol....the cattleyas hang from the ceiling, and I will put the little plants on the floor.....
paul, I had one of those tut's, but it seemed more of a 'muddying' of the color....I am just nuts about this red!
