Default Phal. schilleriana 'T.K.P.'

These are the first blooms from my little baby Phal. schilleriana. There are only five flowers this time, but the plant is still very small. In fact, I wasn't expecting it to bloom while it is this small, but here it is, so that was a pleasant surprise

How pretty, mine is in spike now, too. I'm not sure what I was expecting. I have more leaves but they are smaller, I suppose because I mounted it.

Very pretty!

Mine had 4 leaves and 13 blooms last year; but this year only has 2 leaves and 7 buds on the spike.

Not sure what caused the leaf drop.

I haven't had mine for a full year yet. It had two leaves when I bought it, and it grew two more over the summer, but the smallest leaf died, so there's three now. I have some Phals that that hold onto their leaves for years, and they have 8 or 10 or even 12 leaves at all times, while I have a couple others who never have more than four leaves at a time. I don't know what that's about, if I'm doing something wrong, but I hope this one has more leaves, since they're so pretty.

Beautiful plant, this species has been on my wishlist for a long, long time! Nice to see that they can bloom quite small, blooming sized plants are quite expensive, so I can get a younger plant and hopefully not wait too long for the first spike!

Phals with mottled leaves are the icing on the cake-lovely.
