Bought this in bloom in the middle of March at the Ann Arbor orchid show. Subtle, yet sweet fragrance in the morning, touch of citrus. Don't mind the leaves, had my 1st spider mite outbreak just this past summer. I repotted her into full water culture around June, which for me is bottom 20% or so of the roots are always in water, once a week it gets a full root soak for an hour with kelp max, Inocucor, and the MSU/k-lite at 25ppm N.

Beautiful!

Ray recommends Kelp Max no more than once a month. There have been suspicions frequent KelpMax use has made Phal flowers abnormal.

I also think you could cut back on the Incocucor to once a month. The organisms will stay alive in the wet roots.

Oh, and I'll have a Bud Light if they're cold!

Thanks for the tips. I have been doing the steady diet, although at a lower dose. Bud lights are definitely cold, they had to be brought to our indoor fridge. They started exploding in the garage fridge. We just went 12 consecutive days below 20 degrees, the last 3 or 4 have had wind chills well below zero.

So now's the time to put the freezer contents outside and defrost it. I remember my grandmother and great aunts doing that. My chest freezer isn't self-defrosting so I have to do it, too.
