This is what I think to be a Dark Star 'Darth Vader'.
I bought it under the name "Cambria" so...
It always bloom in this time of the year, maybe a little later. This year I was surprised because it spiked in October when it was supposed to do it in November. I've moved it this summer to a spot with more light so it might have been the cause for it. But temps also were high until mid Nov so I don't know...

Anyway, here it is. The first spike that had originally 7 blooms until I broke it when watering. Lost 5 blooms. These are starting to fade.

First flower of the 2nd spike, also with 7 blooms.

A detail of the flower...The flowers have a wierd look because they are iridescent. Depending on the type and angle of light its colors and details change.

A photo of the plant...not good looking because it has been treated due to a suspicion of sipder mites infestation.
I have this plant for almost 4 years so it's a big one.

That's a nice deep purple colour, shame about the broken spike.

Very impressive flower. Too bad about the loss of blooms. I have done the same thing many times while watering and I feel like punishing myself for my carelessness.

Thank you, my friends!
I'll tell my plant you all love it.

Breaking spikes...well that's the first time it happened to me but, suprisingly, I didn't fell bad, at least too bad. Accidents happen so...

Very cool purple-on-purple leopard print in the first picture. I would buy that orchid based on the name alone
