Sharry baby blooming....
sherrybabybloom by vracing, on Flickr
Hmmm...currently, there are two flower spikes growing and blooming at the same time. However, I am not seeing that many buds. The spike from these blooms only have 3 flowers right now. The other spike have less than 10. My sharry baby looks small with smaller pseudo bulbs...total of 4. They do get plenty of light. I have this sharry baby for about 1 year...got it last year with only 2 pseudo bulbs...

Thanks.. Maybe next time...is somewhat difficult to get a good shot of it because it is behind another orchid. The pseudo bulbs are very plump but never did grow taller. The leaves are shorter too and they have black dots on it. Signs that they are getting enough light. And currently, there is a fifth pseudo growing too and new leaves are forming on the side.

Here's mine. 10" pot, 4 spikes. Like yours, it's behind other orchids, not easily seen.

Nice....I think mine is too small to get some large bloom. On the other hand, I have another oncidium, the dragon wing. The spike is 2 ft long and growing. It has over 20 buds already. They aren't flowering yet. This dragon wing looks like a normal mature oncidium with 6 long and plump pseudo bulbs. Each bulb is 3" to 4" tall.

Beautiful Sharry Babies, Tetra and Dolly! I have had one for a year now, and I keep hoping for some sign of a spike. In the meantime, I will have to enjoy pictures of your lovely plants.
I'm meandering here, but it just seems that, since we have figured out ways to easily transmit sights and sounds over the airwaves, somebody should have figured out how to transmit fragrances by now.

I do love the smell of mine. I've had it only about a year, replacing a plant I had years ago. It throws up several flower spikes at a time but mine is a good sized plant.
