Amazing display of Coelogyne cristata in bloom. I don't know for how long it's been there, but I'd assume a long time.

This is in the highlands of the state of Minas Gerais, southeastern Brazil.

I'm only posting this to say that there's no way I can post about that plant without profanity. Sorry.

WoW!

I am asking this just to get an idea of climatic conditions, but do you know what town that is in?

I have a plant (certainly MUCH smaller than the pictured one) that has minimum 50 pseudobulbs, I am trying to figure out why it refuses to bloom. I think it is a climate thing, maybe not cold or dry enough during fall/ winter? It gets loads of light.

Yes, you could use this for reference:
Climate Maria da Fe: Temperature, Climate graph, Climate table for Maria da Fe - Climate-Data.org

During summer it rains almost every day, then by mid-fall it starts to get drier. Winter is very dry with basically no rain and cool to cold nights.

I think the trigger for blooms is the cool and dry rest that nature provides naturally here.

Holy COW!! now that's an orchid. I've never seen anything like that before. Thanks for posting. I think I would pitch a tent so I could just look and look at it.
