Default Dendrobium Minnie

I couldn't determine how to post a photo on a private message so I am posting it here for the benefit of one particular member. I would also welcome anyone viewing the photo to give me some hints on when this plant blooms and if any coaxing is needed in order to get it to produce flowers. Is the blooming period fixed or variable?
Thanks!

I don't know, but it's a beautiful healthy plant. Congratulations!

Very nice looking plant! I don't grow it but looked it up in OrchidWiz. It is a primary hybrid between Den caronnii and Den. johannis. Den. caronii has a very specific bloom time of March. Johannis seems to bloom throughout out the year except for late summer and early fall it doesn't seem to bloom at all. Both require 3 or 4 months of fairly dry winter rest. Temps are pretty much maintained year round. A bit cooler for carronii and a bit warmer for johannis but basically warm to hot and moderate to bright indirect light. Hope that helps.

One I had was a spring bloomer; sadly lost in a cold snap. It's a sensitive one. Really attractive though, I'm sad to have lost it and plan on trying to replace it if I move further south.

Thanks for the very helpful information. It received no rest last winter so I will try resting it this winter and hopefully it will flower in the spring.

I may have killed my plant. I give some of my plants a summer outing by taking them out of the greenhouse and staging them in the garden patio where I have a Koi pond. On occasion, I have been known to dunk a mounted plant in the pond to soak it for a while. I dunked this one yesterday but forgot to rescue it and when I fed the fish this morning it was still in the pond. I sprayed it with peroxide because some dendrobiums are ultra sensitive to chemical fungicides. It is just a wait and see thing now to find out if it will make it. I did the same thing a few years ago with my Schoenorchis fragrans and it dropped all of it's leaves and succumbed.

If it was in the pond for less than 24 hours, especially overnight, there is a good chance there will be no problem at all.
