Thanks. I sure hope it grows well. The old growth seems to be dying off. It was in bud when I bought it from Ecuagenera bare root in March of 2015. But the bloom was damaged and it had much more bessiae influence that time and I wasn't real thrilled with its looks. So this is the first time I am seeing its real potential and I am much happier with it. It has a nice light scent in the early part of the day also. I wanted more kovachii influence since its what costs the big bucks and am happy to see it in this blooming.

I have the same problem with my Haley Decker x dalessandrol. It seems to only want to support 2 growths at a time. I have never gotten it to bloom either. The Haley Decker is something that I have now forgotten and am to lazy to go look up, and kovachii. You probably know any way.

When I got it you could see it had had a middle leaf that had been cut off. I thought that was a bit strange so I contacted the seller and they did give me some off of it. It had the old growth and was starting a new one. Then when it started another new one the old one died and it looked like it was going to put up a sheath just to have it turn brown in the middle. It then grew a new one and is just starting another new one but looks like the old growth is going to turn yellow.

So it is alive and growing but not thriving. So I would be very happy if I were you. I need to get another with kovachii in it as I like you am smitten.

Your Phrag is called Phrag. Laurie-lei Quintal. Maybe the dying growths is a kovachii thing as I have several bessiae crosses that grow many growths. At one time dalessandroi and bessiae were considered the same or dalessandroi a variety of bessiae. But I also had a Phrad dalessandroi (my most expensive plant) and it did that and eventually died. I sure was disappointed in that as I like the growth habit and supposed multi floral habit of dals over bessiae.

Well, good luck. My big velvety bloom fell off yesterday even tho it still looks very fresh. I sure don't like that part about Phrags. It feels like a piece of heavy velvet fabric. so out to the greenhouse for that plant and hopefully it will now start another new growth.
