Stanhopea oculata
Just acquired this one a couple of weeks ago and now is bloooming. Really nice scent to chocolate, not as strong as the nigroviolacea. I will need to repot it as soon as it stops flowering as it is in a plastic pot as you can see.

I think you were lucky...it seems most of the times, when the pots are not bottomless, the spikes die inside the pot.
