Tolumnia guianensis and Tolumnia urophylla Male
Default Tolumnia guianensis and Tolumnia urophylla

Tolumnia guianensis and T. urophylla came to me from Andy's 12 Days of Christmas sale in 2015. Both had old spikes, and both have made new spikes. While I was out of town for a week I put them outside, and something nibbled on most of the buds, leaving these and a few more to come. They have been in flower for about a week now.

The guianensis has three flowers, the urophylla one. I'll post photos of the entire plants later. The flowers appear much larger than they are because they are some distance above my hand.

I'm glad I took the photo, because I noticed aphids on some of the other spikes. And the T. sold as sylvestre I posted before is growing a keiki on the spike with faded flowers.
