Dendrobium Kiyoshi Uzumi x Jacqueline Concert
Dendrobium Kiyoshi Uzumi x Jacqueline Concert came to me in spike from Carmela's in early October 2015. I can't find a registered name for this on the RHS site, but this plant is commonly available in the trade. Flowers began opening in late October. It has been in bloom since then. There are four flowers remaining, and the plant is making a strong new growth.
The plant arrived in a 3.25" plastic pot with large bark chunks, and it remains there. It has four canes, the tallest of which is just over a foot / 30cm tall. I understand this plant will get much larger. When the flowers are gone I will repot into a low, wide container to provide more stability, as the plant is quite top-heavy now.
The flowers are about 3" / 7.5cm across and 2.5" / 6cm tall. It has a faint spicy scent on warm sunny days, but I have to get close to the flower to detect it.

Another nice one!
With some of these, it is best to pot them when the new growth is just starting the new roots. I like to keep the new growth above the medium (With my first, I used red lava rock but I am using LECA, now) and let the roots go into it, then gently bury the exposed part of the roots with a little more medium once they are established. I use basket pots so I can see how the roots are doing. But, then, everyone has their own method. Good luck!

Thank you! I was planning on using LECA balls.
