I'm envious - I've had one of these for 2.5 years and still no spikes! This is the only orchid I have that I have not been able to flower. It sits under a metal halide light right next to a B. Little Stars and various mini vandaceous orchids that flower regularly. This one is about to join my office orchids to see if I can get it to flower there with my other home rejects. :(

I can't see how that could be as it has no spots, very strange.

I wrote to Fred Clarke that his seedlings are far larger than other vendors', with more double growths breaking. He said he fertilizes all seedlings but the tiniest ones just out of flasks with MSU fertilizer, 1/2 teaspoon / 2.5ml per gallon / 3.78liters of water.

The spotting comes from nodosa. Some nodosas have a solid white lip but many have varying degrees of a dark red/purple-ish spotting in the tube of the lip. I'm no genetic expert but, from what I've seen, it seems to readily pass this along to it's offspring. :Tup:

I just purchased this one from SVO at a orchid show this weekend along with a B. Little Stars and Bl. Morning Glory from Kawamoto. I absolutely love the color and shape of yours. Thanks for the inspiration.
