We just got a new office, and of course I had to bring some of the orchids to make it more like home

Here's what's blooming right now:

Specifically, Dendrobium Burana Doll no. 7, which keeps dropping its cute little flowers before they open. Just repotted it and think I'll bring it home to rest and recover for a while.

Den. Burana Stripe, which has a nice minty smell.

Den. Emma Burana White.

And a toss-up between my favorite office companions at the moment: Miltassia Shelob 'Tolkein' (my first rebloom of this particular orchid) and Lc. Cluster Fire 'Cinnabar', which really does shine like a gemstone in the sun!

Work. Not my favorite place. But blooming orchids must make it so much nicer. Yours are beautiful!

I am stuck in a windowless room all day, unfortunately.

So jealous! I am in a cubicle right next to a window, but it faces south and the girl next to me always closes the shades during the day...and there is too much drama in this office already that I will definitely NOT ask her to keep the shades open for a plant ;-/

Maybe that would tip her over the edge, and you'd get a better cubicle neighbor?

Or maybe you could buy her an orchid! That way she would feel loved AND keep the window open for her own plant ;-)

Thanks for your kind comments, everyone. Orchids do make it easier to come to work every day. And they've helped me strike up conversations and make friends at work, when people ask what the heck all those strange plants are doing in the sink!
