Gorgeous, this orchid is just stunning and a real treat for the eye. Thank you for posting Subrosa, I have mine in bloom at my apt. I have been at my parents house for the past week and a half. It barely began to open its blooms when I left so I should come home to a fully bloomed orchid and be able to enjoy the blooms for a couple of days. I will post pics ASAP. I am grateful I can enjoy your blooms while mine sit unappreciated at the moment.

Feb. Stenorrynchus speciosum, an easy growing terrestrial I got from Ray last fall. It arrived in spike, but I managed to screw that up......but it's houseplant easy and once it adapted to my conditions it's been a trooper. Most of that gorgeous red is actually not the flowers, but the bracts. As Whimgrinder observed on another forum, "it's the Poinsettia of orchids"! I took a gorgeous pic a month ago, and not a single flower was open at the time. The flowers are red on the reverse, but on the inside the tips of the petals and sepals start a shiny white and fade to pink deeper in.

A little peek at what should be next month's selection. Definitely not one you see every day. Depending upon where you live of course!:
