Default Oncidium 'Gold Dust'

This near species oncidium ((Twinkle x cheirophorum)) seems to grow easily. It was the only mini at out local orchid sale this spring, and I picked it up. It surprised me by sending up a spike in the late summer and it has now opened to these yummy spicey cinnamony scently flowers.
Too bad it's only about six inches high...but that means it does fit on the windowsill easily.
I think I can take half credit for the spike...having accquired it in February with only 2-3 small pseudobulbs and the growth has been good, it also has three new PBs that are about half grown, I'm hopeful they will spike in the spring...but not sure of course.

Very pretty, the fact that it is smaller is a plus in my mind.

Cool. O. cheirophorum is a really wonderful little species. Lovely yellow flowers, nice fragrance, and small size are all a big plus. This hybrid is clearly very strongly influenced by cheirophorum, and that's a good thing.

If you couldn't...well, I guess you'd have to stop expanding your collection at all, it's very small
I'm enjoying it...and hoping to see what a much larger clump of bloom (going from single PB lead to triple this year...and hoping to be more next) looks like next year.
