Campylocentrum tyrridion - this is really not about some amazing orchid bloom, more about the leafless species. This one came from Panama some 2 years ago, very tiny poor little thing. I was actually super excited that it did survive, and a few days ago I did find spikes that I completely missed most likely for days! It is very hard to take any good picture of this very tiny bloom. Grown warm / hot year round, mounted, shade, misting daily, sometimes multiple times, regular fertilizing.

It has amazing roots, not a big surprise you almost missed the blooms.

Shannon, since it is leafless orchid, it has only the roots, no leaves ever, and yes, the spikes are so tiny ;-)

Thumbs up

I can't believe I missed this thread from last month. Nice plant Tommy! It sounds like you have the growing conditions nailed. Just how much shade do you provide it? I have been looking into getting my leafless collection in general into more shade (only exception might be Dendro. funalis, which is getting some sun, but not putting out any growth for me right now), so any info on light levels would be very helpful.

I have been keeping an eye on the availability of this species for over a year now, since I noticed through a google search (I do these searches to find any and all leafless species that might be available for purchase from anywhere) that a Panama orchid vendor actually has this for sale. Unfortunately, the order minimum is $500, so...will have to wait until it shows up elsewhere. Do you know of another source for it, or a way around the minimum order? Thank you.
