I have been keeping an eye on the availability of this species for over a year now, since I noticed through a google search (I do these searches to find any and all leafless species that might be available for purchase from anywhere) that a Panama orchid vendor actually has this for sale. Unfortunately, the order minimum is $500, so...will have to wait until it shows up elsewhere. Do you know of another source for it, or a way around the minimum order? Thank you.

Hi, I believe you found the same (only) seller that has this available, I got my plant from Panama when I did the import (I was over $500 :-)) The thing is, Gaspar has them listed as available but he doesn't have any sadly. Even when I was ordering these last year, I wanted soome 6 pieces (I was getting some plants for Marni and she wanted one too), there was none available, and than he sent me just one. He said he has only few of these left and he wants to keep them for him and hopes to propagate some in the future. I am asking him every time I do order, but no luck. Regarding the light levels - it is hanging inside my Dracema tree, it is at the part of balocny that gets strong direct afternoon sun till the sundown, the whole tree is shaded with shade cloth, and this mount is covered with Spanish moss, so even the tree gets lot of light, this particular plant is really shaded well. I have another 2 leafless orchids hanging at that tree, Chyloschista and funalis, they are exposed to much more light, still covered with some Spanish moss, both are growing great with dozens of new growths but sadly these tho has never bloomed for me, in some 3+ years I have them, so I am not sure what is the issue, they were in much more shaded area previous years, so I did move them to more light to actually see if this will make difference in spikes. Hope this all helps ;-)
