How do you water that thing? Hose it down?
and what about during the winter?

Outside, yes, just spray it with the hose daily.

Inside over the winter, I sprayed the roots and leaves daily with a spray bottle. Didn't know if that was going to be enough, but it seems to have been just fine. It sent out 6 spikes and bloomed from October through January.

Apparently it works very well.

My vanda in an acrylic vase with no mix in, is spiking for the second time this spring.
The first attempt didn't work and somehow just died at a very early stage. I think I got too lazy watering it. lol
The second spiking is definitely growing now. I hope it will make it.
