I love the electrifying color on Queen Beer. Love it!

By the way, I think this hybrid is quite distinctive enough and I don't think there are other hybrids that look similar. At least I haven't seen any so far.
This color is rather common, but not the flower shape and all.

Thank you, orchidsarefun.

Now I see they are different. See my pics...there's some white spots on the lower outside that I can't see in mine.
Also, my flowers are sligthly bigger than 2 inches, maybe almost 3 (7 cm, at least).

unfortunately there is a tendency to sell unlabelled Phals even in the USA. I sort have come to the conclusion that vendors do so because they don't want to keep up with a list of patented orchids in each country and thus having to pay a licence fee for each patented orchid they sell. It's far easier ( legally ) just to sell as a NOID, even though it may be a mericlone of a previously patented orchid.
If anyone else has a theory, I'd love to hear about it !

That is not similar at all!
The color is very different and shape...also from what I can tell, that flower is much much bigger than Queen Beer.

FWIW, I believe the registrant was thinking of the large animal, the bear, but spelled it wrong.

Oh...the first is Queen Beer, the second is likely mislabeled.

This is one reason why I am wary of people looking at pictures and thinking they look similar. To your practised eye you see the differences clearly, to mine I'm not sure, and not sure if either of them don't look something like two of mine (which look quite different to each other side by side, but I can't tell pictures of them apart), I know other people who see something vaguely Phal shaped and think they all look the same

Queen Beer is partly distinctive in that the flowers are small, which I've not seen in that look of Phal before, making that a distinctive characteristic. I really didn't realise it had small flowers from the photo though

no, its definitely Queen Beer. It was registered in 1992 by a Taiwanese person. He/she has only 1 registration so I don't know if it was a translation mistake.
However I do know - as I have read - that 'mistakes' are common whether intentional or not. Phal Yaphon Ugly Person is an actual registration, as is Phal Yaphon Apairof Moustache, Yaphon Bluepis, Yaphon The Hulk...........hmm maybe he was 'honouring' his mother-in-law, nobody knows except him
