Pleurothallis corniculata
Pleurothallis corniculata - hot growing species from South and Central America, spikes quite a few times a year, but this is the time when it produce most spikes. Bright shade, moist, regular weak fertilizing. Very rewarding Pleurothallis and easy to grow!

Oh now I'm jealous. I have the corniculata and it has not grown much at all. It is in a tiny pot in rock or perlite. It lives in my little indoor greenhouse, in bright shade. I keep it moist, fertilize weakly weekly. Maybe I need to repot in moss? Yours is beautiful, mine should be ashamed.

Patty I do grow in moss and outside. And right back at you, I am jealous of your allenii bloom, I have that one for nearly year, grows great but no blooms!

Haha you made me giggle! I hope my allenii has more blooms, it's just getting started. I hope yours blooms for you too.
Tomorrow I'm repotting my cornicaulata in moss, it has only grown one leaf and I've had it quite a while. I was advised to not repot it when I bought it, Al said I should wait until I had new growth. It started another leaf but it yellowed and died. That's it, repot time!
I bought both the allenii and cornicaulata from Al's Orchids. He is about 45 min from me and I love to go there.

Great Patty, do not use large pot, in my experience these like smaller pots and rather overfill the pot before being repotted. I do use shipping popcorn on the bottom of my pots with sphagnum, but trying not to cover or clock the drainage. Keeping moist but not soaking wet.

Thank you Tommy, I used the same pot it had been in after sterilizing it. It was far from needing a bigger pot. No wonder Al told me not to repot it. I use shipping popcorn as well, then fresh sphagnum. I hope it gets off its lazy butt and puts on some growth now. I've considered tossing it a couple of times.
The roots were all nice and healthy and it has a good growth of roots so fingers crossed the fresh sphagnum gives it what it needs. I fertilize weakly weekly and keep it just slightly moist. I'll have to be careful with it in sphagnum now rather than the perlite. I can't wait for those pretty orange blooms.
