It is potted in LECA in a clay pot. Summer it is outside and gets full sun until about 1pm then shade the rest of the day. I tend to hose down my outdoor plants daily so it gets water on a regular basis.
Fertilizing is not my strongpoint but I try at least once a month.
My temps are 80-100+ in summer and relatively dry, 10-30's, compared to your location.

In winter it is on my south facing front steps. It gets full sun and whatever rain that falls. I also water it every 7 to 10 days if it doesn't rain. No fertilizer. I cover it if it is going to freeze.

This last year is the first time I used this regime and it's the first time it bloomed. I'm curious to see if it repeats next spring.

I don't know if these hints apply to all kingianums or not but it seems to work for this one.

Hope this helps

Maureen

I've understood these need a cold winter to flower (not freezing, but otherwise cold).

Mine is kept in a greenhouse over winter with the thermostat set to 5C/41F to keep it cold but not freezing (occasionally goes a degree or two colder).

They also need no fertiliser over the winter. I actually stop fertilising at the end of August.

I agree. I decided to just leave mine outside over the winter and let nature take it's course. Obviously that's not possible for everyone.

I think I was fiddling with the water and temps way too much before.
