NOID Phal (Possibly Jiaho's Pink Girl)
My first mini phal. The darned thing has given me some fits. When I bought it, it had one lonely little flower on a single spike. I was distraught. I loved the soft pink blush on pure white so much that I made it my avatar here on the board... and then for two years the darned thing refused to spike!
We have had some ups and downs while I figured out that it likes to be in the windowsill, year round, even when it's -10 outside. If I move it, it gets droopy. It likes to have a couple of roots crawling out of the pot. I did not dare stake this spike, because it was so thin and fine, that I was afraid it would snap off at any moment and I had waited so long for it... and then one day... I went to water it and I dropped the pot. I thought that spike was a goner for sure, but I got lucky. I dropped it on the OTHER side.
A month or so later... a single flower emerged and three other buds with it... and then I thought to take it off of the windowsill before the last bud opened, but then thought better of it and was rewarded with four cute little flower! Also, now I know why my last couple of buds on my phals always blast. I've been taking them off the window sill too soon.
Here it is: So proud of this little guy.

WHat a nice colour! COngrats. All the patience paid off. Is the spike still feeble looking?

Thanks! I love how soft the color is on this too. Very hard to photograph and still pick up the pink.
Yes, it's very thin but seems quite sturdy. It's not easily bent or moved around now. The four flowers weighed it down quite a bit too. My other mini phals' spikes are usually about twice as thick as this one. I wonder if I fed it enough. It was one of my beginning orchids, so it has suffered from some benign neglect.

Mine doesn't have purple under the leaves at all. Just green.

That is a very lovely color. I wonder why it's so demanding of you hehehehe.

That was actually the trick I think. I had to learn that I was fussing over it too much. I pretty much forgot about it for six months, just watered it like everything else and was about to give it away when it finally spiked. Maybe it knew I was about to give it the boot? LOL!

Very nice does it have a frangrance? Poor girl you had a scare with the plant dropping, that has happened with me as well 😁 good to hear the spike wasn't damaged. I love the delicate pink blush on the flower ❤️
