Potinara Hoku Gem Freckles Pink- that changes colour
My ‘Potinara Hoku Gem Freckles Pink’ completes her journey through the colour spectrum. She starts from pink and in the end her colour turns yellow. I feel very happy to see her changes. Every morning I saw her in a new looks. I know it’s not the only orchid who changes colour shade but it happens first time in my collection. So I want to share some photographs of her journey. In the end of the picture series you’ll see in this plant another bud opens her petal and a new journey starts form there.

Wow, that is a really nice trait, it's like having two plants for the price of one. So, why does this happen?

One of the parents of Hoku Gem is Bc. (formelry Bl.) Richard Mueller. Richard Mueller and most of the crosses made with if go through this color change, but not always this dramatically and attractively.
I think one of the parents of Richard Mueller (C. milleri) goes through a usually more subtle color change, with a bright red color fading to a deep red-orange background color. It becomes more noticeable when hybrids have a lighter orange/yellow/cream background color.

Thanks for this information. I had no specific idea about these crosses.
